The Oportunidades Program was founded in 2007 with the goal of transforming Salvadoran youth by giving each young person the tools they need to change their lives through their own efforts, thereby transforming their environment and their country.

The Oportunidades program has developed a unique philosophy that combines career counseling with a set of values known as "CRIARSE," civic education, and employability certification — a formula that continues to encourage young people to pursue their dreams, believe in themselves, find their purpose in life, and thus contribute to a better future for El Salvador.
Empowering young lives through Education, Digital Transformation and Employment
Through an innovative educational curriculum, students ages 14–16 with a strong desire to succeed are prepared and empowered to improve their prospects for higher education and employment.
Oportunidades, in collaboration with the Program's 16 partner universities, offers scholarships and access to educational funding to young people pursuing technical, engineering, or bachelor's degrees.
Through employability certification and soft skills workshops, the program assists young professionals in landing their first job.
